Get my bill cut

Bill Bandit › Guides

Your Xfinity bill is higher than you were quoted.

You signed up for one price and the internet and TV bill came in higher. That gap almost always comes from a handful of lines on the bill. Here's where to look, what Xfinity's own pages say, and how long you have to dispute it.

The lines to check on your Xfinity bill

How long you have to dispute

Xfinity's subscriber agreement says you must notify them within 120 days of the date on the bill. source

What to do, in order

  1. Get your proof together: the order confirmation, chat transcript or screenshot of the quote, and your first two or three bills.
  2. Call billing and point to the exact line that doesn't match the quote. Ask them to fix it and note the account. Write down the date, the rep's name and the ticket number.
  3. Put it in writing inside the dispute window above.
  4. For TV charges, cable operators must answer written billing complaints, and you can also contact your city or county cable franchise office.
  5. Still stuck? File a free FCC complaint at fcc.gov/complaints or 1-888-225-5322. The FCC says the provider must respond in writing within 30 days. source
